Good ways to have bad manners

We read a story called ‘Licked’ by Paul Jennings. In our writers notebooks we wrote down any ideas that we could so we could write about it later. We chose ideas from here and wrote about them using the PIES Model (Persuade, Inform, Entertain, Self). This is the result.

Massey University

Today I met a man from Massey University. I showed him some of my blog posts. I showed him my family tree and he told me some of his family members and he also has a Richard and a Hannah in his family. I showed him my camp post and he said that he had been there before and he had lots of fun. He was really nice and he said he enjoyed speaking to me.

Camp 2016 eportfolio evaluation

Description: Camp was great we had 10 activities and they were amazing we went to el rancho  and got there at 9.15. We got our cabins ready and we all discovered el rancho and did a map search. We were there for 4 days and the last day we went to levin park. We had so much fun and were so tired by the last day.

Feedback/Feedforward : I like the way you put lots of information in your camp diary. Next time you need to work on nothing

Fighting Kayaks Gone Wrong

Description: In Poutama we went on an awesome camp, when we got back we decided to write about it. First we had a brain dumped all our ideas down in our writers notebook. We decided if we wanted to persuade, inform, entertain or self i chose to entertain. Then we re-crafted our story by using onomatopoeia, extra words, punctuation, better words, fixing words and capital letters. Then  published. I chose to entertain so I chose to write about camp kayaks gone wrong.

Feedback/Feedforward:I think you did a good job on adding detail and hooping the reader into reading more. Next time you could describe the scene more. -Zara

Description: On Mondays when some people go to Kapa-Haka the people who don't go to it made a family tree. With help from my parents I got up to my great grandparents.  We wrote them down in English then we wrote them in Maori when we finished that we got the choice of how we wanted to present it. I chose to do it on family echo.

Feedback/Feedfoward: I think you did a good job on making your family tree clear and able to read. I like how you added it evenly so it looked good. Next time you could make it more fancy and make it stand out. -Zara

Evaluation: I agree with  Zara and I think next time I could make it by hand so it will be easier to read. I think I good at writing the Maori words.

I statements

Description: Last week we had to make a video showing the bad way of dealing with problems and the good way, what is the "i" statement. The "i" statement is when you're in a problem and you're hurt you say I feel sad or disapointent or it could be a possitive one like I feel happy when Its christmas because I get gifts. Then the person can respond like "I'm sorry you feel that way" like in my movie with Louis and Zara. So then after we made a plan for our movie we had to record it. After we edited it then we're done

One word 2016 portfolio sample

Description: my one word for 2016 is faith. First we chose our one word, then Elly took a picture of us pretending to holding a sign. Then we measured out between our hands. We practised twice to show we know what it looks like we designed it and then stuck it to our picture.

Feedback/Feedforward: I think you did good on making it big and clear next time you could put more colour into it. Jonty

Evaluation: I agree with Jontey and next time I think next time my words could stand out more.
I chose my one word because I need more faith in all my learning and sport.

Camp Goals

Description: Next week is camp and we decided to make goals for camp we made a bubble map to help us but it had to connect to our one word my one word is faith.
